Future Horned Frogs

So last week my good friend Lexy and I drove to Fort Worth to take a look at TCU. We had no idea that we'd completely fall in love with the place. Everything about it just fit- we pretty much were able to plan out our perfect next 4 years being Horned Frogs. We had a blast shopping, grabbing lunch, walking around, and enjoying a guided tour in which we discovered TCU has some of the most beautiful guys in the world. We're crossing our fingers now. I'm hoping that since I got my acceptance letter from Baylor, that TCU will want me too (I think their acceptance standards are about the same) So if all things go well, Lexy and I will be Class of 2013 freshman Horned Frogs rooming together in our cute, suite style dorm next August. (That's BEFORE she becomes the most famous broadcast journalist in history and i rule the world) Check out the pics of our fun day wishing we were freshmen!

At Least We're Cute

So last Friday I played hookie from school to take an early Thanksgiving vacation (it was well earned, all A's and 1 B last six weeks, haha) I drove down to Fairfield to spend the day with my lovely BFF to celebrate her 18th birthday since I wasn't able to make it down there the week before. We had lunch, gossiped, watched P.S. I Love You, and baked gingerbread cookies. We had such a blast! The cookie making process was hilarious. First of all, these cookies did not end up being what one would call...delicious. In fact we were proud that they were at least semi-edible. What was even funnier was our decorating skills (lets just say we don't have a professional future in making food look purdy.) All in all we had so much fun catching up, love you girl! :)

The Last Football Game (Yes, I'm Wayyyy Overdue)

Pretty self-explanatory. We were complete and udder goofballs. It was the last football game and Mrs. Hames was 100% lenient on us. We spent the entire game convincing the other side we were mentally challenged (plus i danced my "white-girl hiphop" to the beat of our gangster stadium musack!) It was very fun, but bittersweet. No more high school football.....Oh well.

Tricks and Treats

Halloween Friday night was such a blast! Me and my cute little race car driver and crazy sexy vampire had so much fun dressing up and being silly- hooray for bi weeks in football! And Heather's mom's Halloween decorations made our day. She hides random little severed fingers, tarantulas, and stuff like that all over the house. We were laughing hysterically 24/7 because we'd be doing something random like reaching for toilet paper and there'd be a fake bloody toe...haha we love you Sylvia!

One Letter Closer To Getting Out of Here

The excitement has started...this weekend I got my acceptance letter for LSU! It's so crazy to think that here I am, about to be 18, preparing to leave the nest!

Even though I was beyond thrilled to get my LSU letter the stress is FAR from over. Since my indecisive self applied to NINE schools that means I have 8 more fateful letters to open from now until January. It's SO easy to psych yourself out and imagine that NONE are going to accept you! lol.

So....1 down....8 to go. Wish me luck :)

ALMOST Smacked Mac

The game Friday night vs. Mac was by FAR the most exciting of the year! When the final buzzer rang we were tied 35-35 and were about to go into overtime. So the officer and senior Vikas made our way down to the track (its tradition that we do a kickline if we win- one kick for every point scored) We ended up being down there for a loooonnnnggggg time- we went into TRIPLE overtime! We had a blast down there on the track with Viking Crew and the cheerleaders but ended up losing by one touchdown (42-50) ....by the way, can you believe Mac rubbed salt in our wound by going for a two point conversion AFTER they had already won? Geez louise. Anyway, I'm so proud of our guys for such an awesome game!!

PS: Phot Explanations-

A) YES we got to wear our windsuits to the game!!! Can you believe it?
B) Katy is NOT naked in the picture- their officer pep rally costumes were off the shoulder!!!
C) We were joking about how we would look like the U.S. Olympic team walking into the game in our windsuits and JUST as we were saying that I looked over at Karen and her socks had "USA" written in BIG red and blue letters- we laughed for like ten minutes. We love our little goober :)

Breakfast with the Vikas

Finally...our LAST fundraiser!!! So after the game Friday night Heather and I went back to her house fully intending to go to sleep (knowing we had to wake up at 6:30) BUT...then Pretty Woman came on TV so of course we stayed up a little too late watching that :)

After much too little sleep we made to Applebee's by 7:30 the next morning to start our pancake breakfast fundraiser. It took me about 15 minutes to realize that I was not in the mood to serve people- Delanee, Heather, and I therefore took the esteemed job of silverware folders.

After we had rolled apx 200 rolls of silverware our parents were literally shoving us to go serve people. At my very table I sweetly served the plate and was immediately chastized by the lady I was serving because I had accidently spilled a tiny bit of syrup out of the tiny little container on her plate and onto her....drumroll please....PANCAKES!!!! Ahhhh the horror!!!! It was at that moment I realized that I was still not -and never would be- in the mood to serve people.

I was now on the prowl for some other way to make myself useful. It was then that Delanee and I noticed that our donation boxes were just sitting on a table. We spent the rest of the morning at the entrance of Applebee's smiling and holding our donation boxes. (People must really like redheads because between the two of us we got $185.00 worth of donations in about an hour! haha!)

All in all we had a great time and raised a lot of money for our Sugar Bowl trip, but I defiantly realized that if I'm ever to become a waitress I DO NOT need the morning shift!!! :)

Team U.S.A Rocks my Socks

So as most of you know, I am literally obsessed with 'So You Think You Can Dance'. So OF COURSE I was beyond thrilled when I saw that their tour would be at Nokia Theatre this past Saturday. Only one little problem- as most of you also know, Im really bad at matching up days of the weeks with their number dates... the tour show was on Friday, aka: FB game night. I was pretty upset because I was so pumped up to go see the show. So Marmar, being as amazing as she is, tried to find us something equally exciting to go to Saturday night. The 2008 U.S.A men and women gymnastics team are doing a national tour and their first stop was at the AAC right here in Dallas- so Marmar got us tickets. I knew it would be amazing but I had no idea HOW amazing!!! Those guys can put on a show!!! The craziest thing is how star struck I was. I was literally sitting ten feet away from one of the most decorated female gymnast in Olympic history (the gorgeous Nastia Liuken) and one of the most famous - and youngest- Olympic stars, Shawn Johnson. The best part? THE MEN'S TEAM. Who knew that they were SO gorgeous??? (I secretly thanked the show's wardrobe department- ALL their routines were done shirtless :) ) Gold medalist Jonathon Horton was the obvious "hottie Olympian" from this year and there has been hype about his good looks since the very first day of the Beijing Olympics...and he sure lived up to the expectations! The mens teams good looks aside, one of the coolest things was getting to see twins Paul and Morgan Hamm perform. They are literally Olympic gymnastics legends- I remember watching them on TV when I just a little girl! So all in all, the night was a blast and I TOTALLY forgot about 'So You Think You Can Dance' (which says a lot.) It was great to witness firsthand what amazing and down to Earth people were sent to Beijing to represent our country ---check out the photos!

Home Sweet Home

We've been working on the house/my bedroom all day (preparing it for fall/ finishing up much over-do projects) So here's some official pics of the finished product :) ...haha even though we moved in 2 months ago...

We are the Vikas We Are Strong and Proud...

Mom got some cute pics developed from the parade/first game (yes, developed, I love her more than anything but the woman is DEFINITELY stuck in the past!) and they just made me smile about all the great memories I've made with these girls. It seems like all I do is complain and complain about the long practices and MANY responsibilities but i KNOW when football season is over I will be extremely depressed!!...until Spring Show of course :)

Homecoming Week

So even though this week was so incredibly fast paced and CRAZY- it was by far one of the most fun weeks of my life! Thursday night was the burning of the V pep rally. It was sort of bittersweet because Delanee, Esma, Amanda, and I realized it was our last high school homecoming. The next night we had our homecoming game vs. Arlington Lamar. They've only lost 1 game in 3 years so we decided losing 21 to 52 wasn't THAT bad- haha. We premiered Blues Brothers at halftime and did great- we got a standing ovation! All of the festivities had been great so far but me and my girls were just ready for the dance Saturday night at Texas Stadium!!! We all opted to ditch the boys and do a girls night. Daddy also got us an amazing stretch hummer limo to make the night even more special. We got all dolled up and met at Heather's house for pictures and loaded up in the limo. The driver drove us all around Dallas to kill time before the dance- it was such a blast! We rolled down the window, blasted music, drank soda from champagne glasses, and laughed more than we had in a looonngggg time. When we finally got to the dance we DEFINITELY made an entrance (12 HOTT girls stepping out of a hummer!) and were the first ones on the dance floor. The dance was actually really fun despite what we were expecting. We danced the night way...(I was able to keep my shoes on ALL night- can you believe it?) Afterwards our beyond sweet limo driver brought all of us hungry girls to Taco Bell. It was closed but we all pressed our noses against the glass and made puppy dog faces and the manager opened up for us (I'm sure the short dresses helped our cause :) ) It was definitely a night I'll never forget!

My Hectic Week

Wow,wow, wow! This week was so incredibly hectic- and it's only the third week of school! Even though it's fun, it's HARD to keep straight A's, spend time with your family, be a Vika, AND keep a social life!! We had our third football game this Friday vs. North Garland and sadly our boys lost but they played an AWESOME game, (I'm proud of ya'll!) Halftime went great once again and we're ready for next week when we can finally perform Blues Brothers! I also JUST NOW finished my room completly! I still have to wait for my adorable french-style bed frame to come in and hang a few pics but other than that my Paris bedroom is complete- yay! Keep checkin' in- next weekend is homecoming so there's sure to be some excitement!
***After many attempts of catching a cute locker room photo, Heather and I failed due to the fact that she blinked in ALL of them! Haha, love you girl! (see above)

Hello...

So even though I am an avid scrapbooker, I thought it was only appropriate to jump into the 21st century and record my senior year through a blog. It's been a crazy year already, too many early mornings and late nights thanks to school and Vikas, BUT I can already see it shaping up to be the BEST so far. Here's whats happened so far... Last Friday Nimitz High School had our first game versus Haltom and we won 20-12! The crowd also LOVED our throw pom routine at halftime and the performance went great. Later that weekend my BFF, Jaelan, came to Plano and her amazing sis ,Jess, took some gorgeous senior pics of us! We had such a blast taking the pics (and got a few honks!) and I can't wait to see them all! Check back soon, senior year is moving on fast!
