The excitement has started...this weekend I got my acceptance letter for LSU! It's so crazy to think that here I am, about to be 18, preparing to leave the nest!
Even though I was beyond thrilled to get my LSU letter the stress is FAR from over. Since my indecisive self applied to NINE schools that means I have 8 more fateful letters to open from now until January. It's SO easy to psych yourself out and imagine that NONE are going to accept you! lol.
So....1 down....8 to go. Wish me luck :)

ALMOST Smacked Mac

The game Friday night vs. Mac was by FAR the most exciting of the year! When the final buzzer rang we were tied 35-35 and were about to go into overtime. So the officer and senior Vikas made our way down to the track (its tradition that we do a kickline if we win- one kick for every point scored) We ended up being down there for a loooonnnnggggg time- we went into TRIPLE overtime! We had a blast down there on the track with Viking Crew and the cheerleaders but ended up losing by one touchdown (42-50) ....by the way, can you believe Mac rubbed salt in our wound by going for a two point conversion AFTER they had already won? Geez louise. Anyway, I'm so proud of our guys for such an awesome game!!
PS: Phot Explanations-
A) YES we got to wear our windsuits to the game!!! Can you believe it?
B) Katy is NOT naked in the picture- their officer pep rally costumes were off the shoulder!!!
C) We were joking about how we would look like the U.S. Olympic team walking into the game in our windsuits and JUST as we were saying that I looked over at Karen and her socks had "USA" written in BIG red and blue letters- we laughed for like ten minutes. We love our little goober :)

Finally...our LAST fundraiser!!! So after the game Friday night Heather and I went back to her house fully intending to go to sleep (knowing we had to wake up at 6:30) BUT...then Pretty Woman came on TV so of course we stayed up a little too late watching that :)
After much too little sleep we made to Applebee's by 7:30 the next morning to start our pancake breakfast fundraiser. It took me about 15 minutes to realize that I was not in the mood to serve people- Delanee, Heather, and I therefore took the esteemed job of silverware folders.
After we had rolled apx 200 rolls of silverware our parents were literally shoving us to go serve people. At my very table I sweetly served the plate and was immediately chastized by the lady I was serving because I had accidently spilled a tiny bit of syrup out of the tiny little container on her plate and onto her....drumroll please....PANCAKES!!!! Ahhhh the horror!!!! It was at that moment I realized that I was still not -and never would be- in the mood to serve people.
I was now on the prowl for some other way to make myself useful. It was then that Delanee and I noticed that our donation boxes were just sitting on a table. We spent the rest of the morning at the entrance of Applebee's smiling and holding our donation boxes. (People must really like redheads because between the two of us we got $185.00 worth of donations in about an hour! haha!)
All in all we had a great time and raised a lot of money for our Sugar Bowl trip, but I defiantly realized that if I'm ever to become a waitress I DO NOT need the morning shift!!! :)
Team U.S.A Rocks my Socks

So as most of you know, I am literally obsessed with 'So You Think You Can Dance'. So OF COURSE I was beyond thrilled when I saw that their tour would be at Nokia Theatre this past Saturday. Only one little problem- as most of you also know, Im really bad at matching up days of the weeks with their number dates... the tour show was on Friday, aka: FB game night. I was pretty upset because I was so pumped up to go see the show. So Marmar, being as amazing as she is, tried to find us something equally exciting to go to Saturday night. The 2008 U.S.A men and women gymnastics team are doing a national tour and their first stop was at the AAC right here in Dallas- so Marmar got us tickets. I knew it would be amazing but I had no idea HOW amazing!!! Those guys can put on a show!!! The craziest thing is how star struck I was. I was literally sitting ten feet away from one of the most decorated female gymnast in Olympic history (the gorgeous Nastia Liuken) and one of the most famous - and youngest- Olympic stars, Shawn Johnson. The best part? THE MEN'S TEAM. Who knew that they were SO gorgeous??? (I secretly thanked the show's wardrobe department- ALL their routines were done shirtless :) ) Gold medalist Jonathon Horton was the obvious "hottie Olympian" from this year and there has been hype about his good looks since the very first day of the Beijing Olympics...and he sure lived up to the expectations! The mens teams good looks aside, one of the coolest things was getting to see twins Paul and Morgan Hamm perform. They are literally Olympic gymnastics legends- I remember watching them on TV when I just a little girl! So all in all, the night was a blast and I TOTALLY forgot about 'So You Think You Can Dance' (which says a lot.) It was great to witness firsthand what amazing and down to Earth people were sent to Beijing to represent our country ---check out the photos!

We are the Vikas We Are Strong and Proud...

Mom got some cute pics developed from the parade/first game (yes, developed, I love her more than anything but the woman is DEFINITELY stuck in the past!) and they just made me smile about all the great memories I've made with these girls. It seems like all I do is complain and complain about the long practices and MANY responsibilities but i KNOW when football season is over I will be extremely depressed!!...until Spring Show of course :)
