Vika Banquet: '09

Well...this officially marks the end. Vika Banquet 2009 was actually really nice (at Hackberry Creek Country Club...much better than The Senter East Building last year!!!) I had fun getting dolled up with Heather as usual and we had a good time at the banquet: our table was Me, Jennifer, Alyssa, Rachael, Heather, Matt, Katy, Mario, Delanee, and Josh =] Farewell Vikas!!!!

Take My Pic-CHA

Here are a few of the senior pics taken by Saint Jessica Burk with my BFF back in April. A lot of them are un-edited but I still love them so here they are =] Thanks Jess! (And Chris for being a complete angel!)

A Farewell to Arms

**Note: in the picture of me and Karen we ARE acting goofy...we aren't posing like that seriously...haha!!!

So this was SUPPOSED to be our very last Vika performance (Lions Roar Show, the clogging and the skirt) BUT there was practically a flood in Dallas that weekend and MacArthurs stage was flooding...

So it was canceled. But only AFTER we were all at the Vika Gym. With full performance make-up on. With our hair pinned to our head. With the entire uniform on. With our Vika bags completely packed. Yeah.

So instead....Heather, Katy, and I rented a scary movie and pigged out on chinese food!!!

525,600 Minutes

Last Friday night Marmar and I saw the original Broadway version of 'Rent' live at Dallas Fairpark. It was AMAZING. The singing took my breath away and the two leads were the original cast members from the 90s!!! (Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp!!!) SUCH a fun night!

The "After" Effect

I've been meaning to post this horrid picture. This is what happened when I took OUT all the pins from Fairfield prom...It took 5 showers for me to even be able to brush it...yeah...

Prom 75060 (May 9, 2009)

Once again another successful and amazing prom (my last one ever!) I took my friend Heather (friend is too mild a word...what do i call this amazing being? lol sister? pretend lesbian lover? partner in crime? shoulder to cry on? Definitely all of the above) Anyway, I had so much fun with her of course- don't you love our "tux" idea on her???

We got ready at her house all day then went to the park with our madres to take pictures...at this point it was like 30 degrees! We drove to the Mariott and jammed out in my car for like 45 minutes so we could be fashionably late.

Then...What can we say? We walked in and dropped jaws =]

Prom was fun - even though the dj sucked. Good food, good friends, good gossip, Mario got his braces off finally (haha!). And miss Lexy was on prom court, yay!

Afterwards we drove through Grapevine on a hunger rampage just trying to find food at 1 a.m.....and voula- Waffle House! Apparently I've never been to a Waffle House because I thought it was the same as iHop....no,no,no,no. It's like iHop on crack. We gobbled down hash browns and a cheeseburger (seriously, you wouldn't think two debs in ball gowns could be that disgusting, haha) Then we SOMEHOW changed in the bathroom (We're positive the employees thought we were in there shooting up...and they didn't seem to mind...wow...)

Project prom was fun (Gameworks). I chatted with my ladies Lexy and Lisbeth then me and Heather attacked all the racing games. I think air hockey was the most fun part of the night. Me and Heather literally almost peed ourselves because of my SAD air hockey skills (or lack there of)The we played ski ball for a long time and had to stop because our backs were aching (pitiful...I know...)

Anyways, it was a night to remember for sure!

Prom: 75840 (April 18, 2009)

Yes, yes, i know!!! I'm sooooo behind, but I'm really trying to catch up guys!

OK. So Fairfield Prom. So fun!!! I got ready with Miss Kayla (it is a tradition of ours to get ready together for glamorous events since around 7th grade!) Then we drove to Daniel's house to meet up and take pictures with our dates, TJ and Daniel. I was reminded of how much I miss you Kayla, darling!!!

Prom=
Ride: Limo w/ around 20 people (Tim, Sally, Me, TJ, Daniel, Kayla, Dustin, Chelsea, etc.)

Food: Grand Lux at the Galleria

Music: Gangsta! (haha) "I got that boomboom pow" "ice cream paint job" "freddie"

It was great seeing and catching up with all my old Fairfield pals =]

And even though I see Jaelan, my BFF, alllllll the time, i still CRIED when she got there. Haha! Of course I had a great time laughing with her and her date, Jasper. =] Love you honey. (You, Jaelan, not Jasper. lol)

Afterwards Daniel's parents had us hoooooked up. It was so nice, they set up a huge bonfire with tons of food and drinks. We sat around the fire all night laughing hysterically (especially at TJ's Debbie Downer impressions) and Kayla and Daniel drove me home at around 5ish.

FUN, FUN, FUN =]

More Plano Wildlife

Driving to school this morning I see this weird looking animal in my neighbors fenced-in BACKyard and think to myself, "What an odd dog." Upon driving closer I realize, it is of course not a dog. What is it? A mountain lion. In the suburbs of Plano, TX- a freaking mountain lion. To make things much lovelier....it was chasing a sweet little bunny rabbit...

Anyway, just thought that was interesting enough to blog about seeing as there are no mountains in Plano. (Oh and the people that live there had no idea)

Lit Project Heaven

Lexy and I created the greatest Lit project of all time. "An Ode to Langsather" will forever grace the walls of Room 208- haha!

Senior Breakfast

I'm so incredibly behind it's ridiculous...SO...I'm choosing to start with today (senior breakfast) and work backwards up to spring break, posting a blog a day. Right.

So today...Senior Breakfast at Las Colinas Country Club. Verdict? Actually pretty nice/fun. Plus, I got voted Best Dressed Class of 2009 (yay!)

Pictured Above: Me and My Ladies (Taylor- Most Likely to Win Miss America, Lexy- Most Likely to Become an Anchorwoman, Andrea- Miss Congeniality)

Ode to Jamalyn

OK, So I didn't really write an ode, but I should. I have an amazing BFF that I'm about to have an amazing weekend with and I love her very much!

(I'll let the photos count as my ode!)

Check in later for the rest of the spring break pics!

Good or Bad?

I don't know whether to be happy or pissed.

I saw Kellie Pickler's new music video today, featuring Taylor Swift. Taylor is wearing my sexy black studded Bebe dress! Do I get mad because that's MY prom dress or pat myself on the back for having enough fashion sense to parallel Taylor Swift's stylist???

Opinions?

P.S.
Taylor is GORGEOUS but that dress looks soooooo much better on me!!! She is an 8 foot tall stick and i have boobs and a butt! HAHA!

27 Dresses

OK, well just two actually (but I certainly had about 27 choices) I've finally decided on BOTH of my prom ensembles. YAY =] I like to dress in "character" for prom so below I have my prom ideas in MUCH TOO MUCH detail, so read only if you are really bored, lol

Fairfield Prom, April 18:
My AMAZING black studded dress from Bebe. It was pricey, but worth EVERY penny. It hugs every curve where it's supposed to be hugged and is SO hard core with it's silver studs and PERFECT strappy studded black heels. I'm excited (except for from now until then I'll be hitting the gym TWICE a day instead of once...and no I'm not kidding) So Fairfield prom character? The Badass. I can't wait. (Pic #1 is the hard core hair to go with it!!!)

Nimitz Prom, May 9:
Character? MERMAID! Sure, it's a step in the opposite direction but the dress is an amazing sea foam green netting (so nautical!) I'll be pairing it with sexy, wavy mermaid hair (picture 2), BIG jewelry that looks like it was broken straight off a coral reef, and silver snakeskin heels (only I'm passing them as fish scales, not snakeskin, haha) Oh and this dress? THREE DOLLARS. I'm not making that up. It makes me feel much less guilty about my Bebe splurge.

(Let me give you some perspective on my Bebe dress-buying habits...when I walked in to dress shop there this year, the sales lady recognized me from LAST YEAR- where I also happened to buy my dress) haha.

Inked

Yes, I may be about half a year late...BUT I finally got my other wing done. And I LOVE it. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE it. Except it itches- and will for the next week. I also forgot how much it hurts having a needle scrape at your nerve-filled foot for 45 minutes...Thanks Daddy =] I hope your hand is OK! Haha. More pics later (the FULL Spring Break album!)

Happy Birthday To Me

I had a beyond amazing 18th birfday thanks to my friends and family. Here are just a few pictures from one of the nights of celebration!

Housewarming Party...The One in October...

Yes, I'm just now discovering the pictures from the party. We have a lovely picture of Quang and his food ART, my gorgeous moms, and me and the twin. LOL.

**Please note the shoes. They are my babies. Haha.

70 Things You Want to Know About Me, and 5 You Don't

1. I cuss like a sailor.

2. I always drive 20 miles over the speed limit.

3. My best friend always drives 20 miles under the speed limit. If she and I produced a child it would be the perfect driver. (Yes, that’s you Jaelan.)

4. I’m a grammar freak. If you mix up “your” and “you’re” in front of me I’m likely to shoot you in the leg.

5. I believe that being well-traveled is one of the most important things in making yourself well-rounded.

6. On that note, I’ve been all over the U.S. and Mexico, and also to England, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. This summer I’m going to New Zealand and Australia.

7. I could live without my cell phone but I’d DIE without my iPod.
8. I’m obsessed with luxury cars. When I flip through a luxury car magazine I practically have an orgasm.

9. I think I was a puppy in a past life. This notion is confirmed when Karen gives me a back scratch.

10. I get really angry when people dislike me because I’m spoiled. Really? Does it seriously bother you that much? (As a side note I’d like to add that if it does, you can happily kiss my couture ass, thanks.)

11. I love bouquets of fresh flowers. There is always a full vase in my bedroom.

12. It IS possible to be daddy’s little girl AND mom’s little girl. I firmly believe that those are the two most important roles in my life.

13. I will be attending TCU in the fall and I’m literally counting down the days until I’m there.

14. I don’t really understand/believe in marriage. However, I would love for Prince Charming to come and prove me wrong.

15. My family and I used to live in Venezuela.

16. My three favorite cities in the world- so far- are London, Dallas, and Chicago.

17. I have the most beautiful friend in the world- Heather Black. She walks by and boys literally drool everywhere.

18. Pro-Choice. A child should NOT be brought into this world unless it can be cared for financially and emotionally.

19. My two biggest fears? Geese and the dark.

20. I believe in lust at first sight. Love takes time.

21. OK, I’ll get it out of the way…YES, I have huge boobs. Now let’s move on.

22. I’m addicted to sugar-free energy drinks. I have a mini-fridge in my room specifically for sugar-free Red Bull (well, and my insulin but that’s a whole other ball game)

23. Deep inside of me there’s this crazy-cool Indie chick that lives in New York, rides the train to coffee shops, and dates a sensitive drummer.

24. I’m a writer. I’m currently working on some interesting stuff that WILL make me famous.

25. In one year, I moved from Fairfield…to Irving…to Plano.

26. I currently live in the same neighborhood as Michael Irvin.

27. My most peaceful moment in life was hot-air-ballooning over the Colorado Rockies.

28. I find that I’m attracted to gay men.

29. I’ve known my best friend, Jaelan, since 4th grade. Ladies, if you’ll stop stabbing each other in the back maybe you’ll be lucky enough one day to have the same unbreakable relationship that we do.

30. I once had a mental breakdown over someone smacking their gum too loudly.

31. I have 5 turtles- Inny, Minny, Miney, Mo, and Fiddy Cent. I’ve caught them having sex on multiple occasions.

32. When I’m stressed I organize things. If you see me alphabetizing something…RUN.

33. I love Christmas. Not for the presents, but for that feeling. You know that one you just can’t explain?

34. I’m not a morning person. A grunt usually means ‘I love you.’

35. MUSTARD. I eat it on everything.

36. I’m obsessed with the Bumper Sticker application on Facebook. It’s truly sad.

37. It really irritates me when girls pretend to like sports to impress a guy, yet they can’t name a single player on any NFL team.

38. ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’ are STILL two of my favorite movies.

39. I’m identical to my mother except for I have green eyes and she has brown.

40. My favorite guilty pleasure food is ice cold Coca-Cola.

41. I have no regrets of the past, but I do acknowledge wasted time.

42. I’m probably the biggest Harry Potter nerd you’ll ever meet.

43. My girlfriends are my soul mates.

44. Everything I know about sex and relationships I learned from ‘Sex and the City.’ I have every word from every season memorized by heart.

45. I inherited my aunt’s vinyl record collection from the 60’s and 70’s. I jam out to the Rolling Stones on a record player and that makes me so much more hard core than you. =]

46. I am a firm believer in tattoos.

47. I have these scary moments where I question my faith. If my religion is truly “right” that just means way too many people are going to hell, and I don’t like that.

48. I claim every cliché that comes with being a red head.

49. I love Shakespeare. Truly. I bought a collection of 12 of his plays at Stratford upon Avon across the street from the house where he was born. I’ve read them all.

50. I share a birthday with Dr. Seuss. Maybe that’s where my inner-child comes from.

51. My friends and I have the dirtiest conversations of anyone you’ll ever meet. I think Lexy, Rachel, and I really take the cake.

52. Slumdog Millionaire is the most moving movie I’ve ever seen in my life.

53. My favorite smell is puppy breath.

54. I’ve had 4 TRULY great teachers in my high school career. Mrs. Bradley, Mr. Langsather, Coach Christenberry, and Mrs. King are the only argument I have that high school is actually worth something.

55. One of my greatest memories, oddly enough, is cheerleading.

56. I love men’s cologne. It can turn Steve Urkel into James Bond.

71. My Betsy Johnson shades make me feel like Super Woman.

72. I cannot cook. I burn popcorn.

73. To counteract that fault, I LOVE to clean.

74. I owe every part of who I am today to my mom.

75. Fantasy is so much better than reality. =]

A Lovely Day

Who doesn't need one of those? I'm completely at peace from my lazy/refreshing day. All of the underclassmen had to take TAKS today so I was looking forward to a day off. But ohhhh noooooo. Nimitz decides that seniors need to go to school at 12:30 for some army career evaluation test/thingy-ma-bobber. At first I was annoyed... but then my annoyance left me when I realized that skipping was just a better option. (Im not even ALLOWED to join the army because of the dia-beet-us so I figured the armed forces would forgive me for fore-going this little evaluation, haha.) Soooo...INSTEAD... I met up with Delanee, Mario, and Marcos for iHop brunch. Yumyumyum. And very fun. (Our lil old lady waitress was even named 'Roxy'- how cute and cliche is that?) ***Just in case Lari is reading this I would like to note that Delanee was good and actually went to school, haha. Then....I went and got my oil changed. Exciting? No. BUT I was 2,000 miles over and it was time lol. In the waiting room I read some magazines that were from 1996 I think. ha. Next... I went and saw 'He's Just Not That Into You.' I've always thought people who went to movies by themselves are nuts (and I kinda still think that haha) BUT sometimes you just have to escape from people. People are annoying. LOL. It was nice to escape. (I do NOT however, recommend the movie- it majorly SUCKED. ***go see Slumdog Millionaire! best movie in the world***) Then I went and got my eyebrows waxed and went home. Nothing exciting-at all (I apologize if I bored you, but hey, you read it). It was just very refreshing and relaxing. The End. Oh and the photo? Well that's just some sex appeal to brighten your day :)

Saint Valentine

Who needs a silly boy when your mom and daddy buy you Valentine's Day flowers like THESE?

A Night at the Theatre

I had a blast with my partner in crime Lexy-Poo, My gorgeous momma, and Lexy's crazy beautiful mom, LuLu the other night. We went to downtown Ft.Worth and walked around, had dinner, and saw a show at Bass Hall- I just wish we had more pics!!!

I Saw A Coyote Walking Down the Road

Yesterday, Marmar and I were driving home from dinner and...I saw a coyote walking down the road.

Pretty darn smackin' cool if you ask me.

I think he's coming to our neighborhood to eat all the lil' bunnies.

Yeah so that's all I got. Pretty uneventful week if ya can't tell.

Monday, January 26, 2009

YES. I know I'm Obsessed.

So...rumor has it that Dakota Fanning will be playing Jane in Twilight's NEW MOON movie. Ummmmm. SHE BETTER NOT. Don't get me wrong- Dakota Fanning is a precious doll and a great actress...but NOT for Twilight. Sure, Jane isn't a HUGE role but she's a character that means a lot. (Plus, she's pretty much supposed to be the most dangerous, bad ass little vamp of them all.) I think another problem I have with it is that it "Hollywoodizes" Twilight too much. I almost cried when I heard they were going to have Vanessa Hudgens play Leah Clearwater (that rumor turned out false THANK GOODNESS) I just feel that the Twilight cast was a perfect mixture of first-time actors who had either done nothing or very few things...and now they're going down in movie history- don't throw in a bunch of celebrities!!!! Ugh. So anyway. There's my daily Twilight rant.
